The Tribes of Chima are a collection of tribes of anthropomorphic animals. Originally coexistening with each other in an uneasy alliance, everything changed after an incident at the Fangs, leading to the seeming loss of the Crocodiles' king and queen. Under Crooler's manipulation, Cragger, heir to the Crocodile Tribe, demanded a change upon Chima's status quo, ideally one of Crocodile supremacy. Following Cragger's decree of secession, whether through personal gain or obligation, half of Chima's tribes would break away and try to forcibly gain control over the supply of Chi. Hostilities ceased when outside threats endangered the wellbeing of all the tribes. Following conclicts against invaders from the Outlands and Chima's original inhabitants, the tribes would establish a more unified society, dissolving whatever boundaries that separated each race from each other.

- A tribe of sentient Toads once appeared in a LEGO magazine, however most comic stories about Chima have been considered non-canon.
- The First Spinjitzu Master brought over the Serpentine from Chima to Ninjago.[1]
