Nomads[]

Several animals not belonging to the main clans were exposed to CHI in the pond, and chose to live their own lives nearby. Currently only two are known: Stryder the water strider messenger and Orise the elderly owl storyteller.

History[]

The Founders[]

The Legend Beasts of the Pond Clans are known as the Great Founders. As opposed to the other Legend Beasts, they refused to use CHI out of fear and suspicion instead of purity, but they watch over their brethren in the clans regardless. Each of their respective clans is named after them:

  • Deep-Diver of the Diver Clan, a brave otter explorer
  • Lily-Leaper of the Leaper Clan, a sneaky and resourceful frog
  • Storm-Skimmer of the Skimmer Clan, a stalwart speedster duck
  • Wild-Wader of the Wader Clan, a proud heron warrior, rumored to be dead

Wild-Wader's Disappearance[]

One day, Wild-Wader mysteriously vanished from the pond, sending the Herons into disarray. They sent out countless search parties; meanwhile, they entered a frenzy of building and patrolling, worried that the other clans would take advantage of their vulnerability. They requested a larger share of the CHI, which the other clans all refused, and began to burn through resources more quickly. While spending time away from the pond and using up all their CHI, they began to revert to a more primal state, similar to Wild-Wader. The herons attacked the other Pond Clans, eventually forcing the Divers, Leapers, and Skimmers to unite and drive the herons out of the pond.
