Premise

The Black Cloud of Crawlers had recently absconded with most of Mount Cavora’s precious Chi, leaving the world of Chima without its most valuable resource. A team of Chima’s greatest heroes had ventured into the Outlands where the Crawlers come from in order to restore the Chi falls by bringing back the mythical Legend Beasts.

Meanwhile, the land of Chima was in chaos, unified by its loss of Chi and enmity of the Crawlers, yet still politically contentious due to this issue and various former ones. As a resident of the Land of Chima, it is up to a few residents of the land of Chima to find a place in this chaotic world.

The Crawlers might have found a place in the world as well, as some of them had begun questioning their actions since their creation, and many might have longed to be better integrated into the world...For the Crawlers, the world might not have been hopeless either…

And then, of course, there is the peculiarity that a few had looked over the edge of the world and seen something far beyond it, that they might have decided to explore...

What really did happen?

Character Name Player Name Bio Tribe
Razar Waxymix Bio here. Raven
Lord Toademort
Reegull Lord Toademort Bio here. Raven
Egregious Wikikinetic A loud and somewhat absurd Eagle with a penchant for quickly building inventions that usually work excellently until they explode. Goes by Greg for short. Eagle
Razen ᓀᓗᓐ ᓭᐴᑐᓐ🐉 A Raven who doesn't seem to show much expression, keeping a lot of things to himself. He possesses a (considered failed) weapon that he has been working on for years. It is apparent that he is a bit disconnected with his own tribe though... Raven
Badly Wikikinetic A Bat who masquerades as a Lion to spy on the Lions, but secretly only wants to trade with them. Previously referred to as Largechu as his "Lion" name. Bat
Levani MichaelDro An expressive Lioness who isn't too keen on showing her real self in public or with others in general (considering Lionesses aren't common). She goes around wearing a helmet looking something similar to Shadowind's. For the time being, she works as a hired thief and fends for herself in the meantime. Lion
Ridlan TheFelineOverlord A snarky and fiercely independent Raven who sells and trades information rather than goods. She’s used to being overlooked, coming from a large and chaotic merchant family, and is good at sneaking or flying around to “overhear” tidbits of information. Raven
Windella MichaelDro A mostly reserved wolf who has a sense of duty and loyal to what she follows. Is a spy for the wolves, and takes her recon seriously. She can be somewhat shy at times however and adores a good roasted & salted snake. Wolf
Warren MichaelDro The younger brother of Windella and works on weapons for the wolf tribe. Makes them, handles them, and tests them if necessary. He can be a bit of a nerd over his own work but tries his best for the tribe and his sister. Can be a real nervous wreck at times if he messes up something for someone, or if things don't go exactly to plan. He isn't very aggressive though, one of the nicer wolves. Wolf
Rheinstein Lord Toademort Perhaps the only intelligent rhino currently, most likely because of the rhino legend beast horn shard he keeps around his neck. While most consider him a mad scientist, he thinks of himself as better than the best Eagle, which is probably why they don't like him that much. His inventions are known across Chima for lying more on the questionable side of science than the practical side. In terms of weapons, he carries an early concealed dagger and any weird contraption he has made (that hasn't exploded...yet), as well as of course the rhino shard. He is a firm believer in the theory that Chima is one of many realms in an ethereal divide. He keeps a monocle in his pocket. Rhino
Crasmire Lord Toademort This croco has quite a need for speed. He likes speeding through the Land of Chima and the Raven race track, as well as the Chi Day races. He eventually formed a biker gang made of similarly minded crocs, who he calls "The Bikers of the Bog" He has outfitted his Speedor with several modifications, allowing it to act like a boat and move more quickly than normal Speedorz. His weapons include Speedor blades and two worn-out Sluggas, as well as a Crookstone sword. Crocodile
Bearly Lord Toademort Bearly is what they call him, for he bearly sleeps. This is because he is a Bear dream shaman who has power over dreams and sleep. Unfortunately, as a consequence of his higher state of mind and dream, as well as his lack of sleep (in reference to bears), he moves slowly and has to use a cane (or magic shaman staff). His abilities include not sleeping all the time, having greater power over the dream realm than your average Bear (meaning he can communicate in dreams at a greater distance), and being able to enter the dreams of people even if they aren't Bear. He carries his shaman staff/walking stick. Bear
Cromulent Wikikinetic One of Crasmire's biker crocodiles. Cromulent is known for frequently asserting that other people's ideas are perfectly fine and relevant and for occasionally having relevant ideas himself. He carries a sword—which is relevant because most people in Chima carry swords—and a blaster, which is relevant because there's very little Chi at the moment (meaning that his blaster rarely ever actually works). Crocodile
Rhubarb Wikikinetic A Rhino baker. He creates quite good confections, but is, unlike other Rhinos, not very strong, and is, like other Rhinos, fairly dim to boot (or is, at the very least, somewhat eccentric). However, it is recommended that you not insult Rhubarb or his confections, or he will chase after you and try to hit you with a large leafy vegetable while yelling "BAKA" loudly and repeatedly, shrugging off nearly any physical harm bestowed upon him in his rage. (This can also be used as a perfectly cromulent battle tactic.) Rhino
Geran Malletspace A young Gorilla who often forgets his own strength, and carries a relatively small hammer (for a Gorilla weapon, that is). Gorilla
Wain P4-34-M0 An older Wolf, at least old enough to have seen his fair share of problems and their eventual resolutions. He's relatively well known for his distinctly boring aesthetic, plain gray fur with tired yellow eyes, every bit of the usual tribe themed decorations on his armor, and sledge hammer long ago carved, scrapped, or chopped off. Often the voice of reason and sense in a group, Wain knows that there's merit in imparting his experience to the younger warriors, but he tends to let them make their own mistakes and learn in their own ways. Wolf
Lennox Messier87 A laidback vehicles expert of the Lion tribe. His favourite thing to do is ride his fast Speedor or Lion Attack vehicle. He’ll be a great ally if you need a mechanical whiz on vehicles. His distinguishing features are a brown mane, extra strap to secure his Chi medallion, and being the youngest foot soldier. Lennox hates staying in one place for too long. He is underrated but loves to help the lion tribe in all their adventures. He can go armourless or wear light/heavy armour. Weapon of choice at the moment is the Fangius. His canon bio can be found here. Lion
Scarf Wikikinetic A reasonably sane Scorpion who defected due to the general obnoxiousness and selfishness of the vocal Crawler leaders. Having had to become a voice of reason during her time with the Crawlers to realize that they weren't a good cause, Scarf tries nonetheless to fit in with her new allies and not cause too much trouble, but can't help noting when things act up regardless. She also has some expertise with vehicles, though she could use a helping hand from a professional. Scorpion
Waggz P4-34-M0 Wain's long-(long)-suffering wife of thirty-something years and half that many pups. Like Wain, Waggz prefers things that take form over function, though she's happily guilty of indulging her more aesthetic side around their den, usually at the expense of her husband. She's slow to anger and quick to forgive, a maternal figure and metaphorical rock in the rushing river that the lands of Chima can be sometimes. No matter the occasion or the fellow, she'll feed anyone who comes to her table with empty hands and an open heart. But be warned, those who threaten her pack and pups are quickly reminded that a ladle can be as deadly a weapon as any hammer. There's a reason why Cragger's armies didn't dare recruit from her pack!

She wields the Ladle of Gratuitous Power (so named by her friends and foes alike) but uses her trusty sword and shield for those not so easily deterred.

Wolf
Basalt Wikikinetic A Beaver who has no compulsion to fix things, so he serves as a scout for the Beaver Tribe, mostly to find abandoned vehicles and bring them into the Beaver Lodge so that the other Beavers can fix them. Currently, he has his sights set on bringing in one of the strangest and most difficult to obtain vehicles yet... Beaver
Wolfy wolfy (badlycroppedpuppy) Wolfy is a huge wolf with scars littering her body and face. Her ears are tattered from skirmishes, and her muzzle and cheeks are torn through with deep, stitched up scars. Although she seems to be a fighter, her main focus in life is wandering around, making new vehicles and weapons for the tribes of Chima to enjoy. She is a loner, but is frequently seen selling things at the Great Market. Despite being electronically advanced, the wolf herself prefers simple pre-made revolvers and shotguns to anything she makes. Armor is not her greatest concern, as she is built with fat and muscle that already protects her from heavy damage fairly well. Appearance-wise, Wolfy is a tan wolf with dark brown stripes, a brown nose, teal eyes, white and beige underfur, and a short tail. Her left ear and eyebrow are white, while her right ear and eyebrow are dark brown. She has dull, slightly yellowed teeth. Her fur changes with the seasons, and as it grows longer she puts it in a small ponytail to get it out of her eyes. Lastly, the wardrobe of this wolf is fairly simple- she wears jogger pants and a tool belt with a Chi holder in the middle. Mostly shirtless, she also wears a messenger bag across the shoulder for things unrelated to her work.

Wolf
Aiyana Aiyana Lexis A stocky 28-year-old wolf girl. Despite her appearance, she is shy, timid, and kind to others, and enjoys helping out her tribemates with some things. She works as a medical worker in the tribe, providing aid to those that are sick or injured. If she needs to, she'll fight with her claws and a small sword her father made for her as a coming of age gift. She wears a tribal dress that is a little bit tattered due to extended use and also wears a couple bracelets and a necklace, all of which were both made by her mother. Wolf
Engger Precascer A tall, slim, and wise bird from the Eagle Tribe, Engger is recognized by them for his knowledge and leadership. As the bookworm he is, the library is his favorite place, and the search for new things is what drives him forward, specifically in writing books about researches and plans (what he published is little compared to what Engger has). He takes things too seriously with a stiff face and hates any kind of rock on his path.

After being gone for a rather long time in the once-feared Outlands, he finally can be with his tribe once again. But this time, Engger is quieter and rarely talks with anybody but someone who people believe to be a Raven. Any other information is a rumor.

Eagle
Betty Precascer Betty is an average girl from the Bat tribe, easily disturbed and cautious of anything around her. Due to her species, she can't walk anywhere but the Outlands without a cloak and changing her voice tone. Removing this disguise would mean her prison or even worse.

One day, she met a young and tall eagle who taught her everything she know today. This devotion turned into a deeper relationship where she acts as the eagle's right-hand woman and puts his desires above own. Betty is thankful for all of his acts.

Bat
Cratheus Sparky 674 A slim Croc with spiked armor, metal half mask and sarcastic sense of humor. He's a skilled thief who will work for anyone for a price. He usually carries around a grappling hook and rope. His weapon of choice is a Chi Gronk which he created and customized himself. When empowered by Chi, it emits a concussive blast when it strikes an enemy. He can also swim for long periods of time. Crocodile
Scorrin Sparky 674 A small scorpion with light green skin, and plate armor made of scrapped Raven vehicles and weapons. Originally a Scout for the Scorpions, he came to Chima as a spy, but ended up leaving the clan for his new love: speedor racing. By “borrowing” some parts of locals speedors, he created one of his own which he lovingly named: speed stinger. He hides out in a secret scrap garage in the Raven junkyard. His main weapon is his poison crossbow as well as his tail. He has a wide knowledge about speedors, and can use his trusty wrench as a melee weapon If needed Scorpion
Levinidas PreciousTrash6 A Lion tribe mechanic, always coming up with new vehicle designs and new vehicle modifications. Unlike most of his tribe, he is an excellent swimmer. Unfortunately, he is always teased for his green mane. Despite this, he always gets through. He possesses a double-bladed Valious sword and enjoys swimming, reading, modifying his Speedor, sword fighting, finding misfits and making friends with them, and test driving his vehicles; however, he dislikes being teased for the color of his mane, bees, and not being able to figure out a problem with his vehicles. Lion
Raucous Quaildro Raucous is like any other Raven, who will do anything to attain what they desire. This is, except for a slight difference - Raucous craves only the life of an energetic crowd cheering his name. He's a travelling musician, a Bard if you will, who performs with the aid of his Mandolin across the tribes of Chima. Raucous is friendly and approachable, with a taste for adventure and the thrill that comes with it. You may often see him in the camps where a tribe's troops reside, providing entertainment and boosting morale of those with heavy souls.

Raucous is a shorter, slightly stocky Raven male with a dull purple coloration and a silver beak. He prefers to wear reddish-leather clothing ornate with silver.

Raven
Baelus Baelus Baelus would stick in very well with the rest of her tribe, if it wasn't from her suffering from extreme insomnia. Often times Baelus will be without anyone to interact with in her tribe, due to them sleeping for most of the time. So she often will be fishing, fishing all day. Sure, she makes a nice profit from the Chi Day Market, but she is lonely...Despite this, she still tries to be nice and kind to anyone who will give her the time of day.
Scolder Wikikinetic Scolder is nominally the second-in-command of the Scorpion Tribe, but as the Scorpions are very new to hierarchies in general, this doesn't really mean much, as Scolder's boss Scorm makes all the decisions for the Scorpions anyway. What the title does say about Scolder is that he craves power, which doesn't amount to much either in the Crawlers' current state of wobbling supremacy.

Ultimately, all that this means is that Scolder gets very bored with the Scorpion Tribe and frequently leaves to make attempts to secure alliances, which means making friends with people from other Tribes in some vague hope that he can supplant Scorm, though that probably won't happen any time soon. At the moment, Scolder is simply a guy who's trying to help out whoever he encounters, albeit for selfish reasons.

Scorpion
Rory Quake A disfigured member of the Rhino Tribe, whose horn is dull and slightly cracked. (Think of a Sumatran Rhino.) With a bulged left eye, and two different colored iris (one blue and the other green), Rory has earned the title of tribe misfit. (Though rarely does a Rhino care about his looks, including Rory.) He unfortunately suffers frequently from amnesia. Rory is slightly crooked and unable to stand up perfectly straight, yet is a skilled runner and has a passion for rock climbing. After climbing a peak, Rory takes up a rock and bashes his head on it as a souvenir. The number of gashes on the rock determines the date of the climb. (Somehow Rory remembers them all, yet frequently forgets his own name making him an easy target for the Ravens.) Rory's voice is normally gravelly, but on the rare occasion he becomes furious he will completely go silent and give off the nastiest stare. Whenever he is near his tribe's legend beast, he suddenly turns into a 5 star chef, using mathematics to concoct the best dishes. (Much to the confusion of the other tribes.) Rhino
Razcal Messier87 The Raven tribe’s mathematician, with a huge love for profits. He’s always spotted with Razar and the other ravens, calculating the profits and other numbers for them. The Raven tribe looks up to Razcal as an important member, for his gift of super intelligence. Besides being the mathematical prodigy he is, Razcal is also an expert fighter and pilot. Razcal mainly flies on his glider on air and uses his double crosser for land. His weapons of choice are the Bulwark and Bokraw. Razcal isn’t a big fan of speedorz, but he’ll happily ride a stolen one. Raven
FureaFlareon A rather small Raven boy living among the eagle tribe. He likes to stay in the library and learn about the land and the other tribes. He likes to be around Eris as she's the one he looks up to. He is still a child though but he can race like he's been doing it for many years. His speeder is made to match his hight and his style of travel. He helps fix the eagle jets as he finds it fun. His name is Ralph and rather picked on by the Ravens for being with the eagles instead of the Ravens. His backstory is that he was found all alone in an abandoned village alone no family or tribe to go to. He wasn't helpless though as he made simple traps that worked to keep others out and find food. But an offer to live with the eagles he took time to accept it. Once he accepted he has been staying there since. Raven
Wilfred Traykar A Younger wolf, and has the temperament that you'd expect from one. Headstrong and combative he enjoys getting into scrapes where he can use his strength to great effect. Despite this general preference, he's also been known to serve as a combat driver when needed, but has a strong aversion to Speedorz. Wolf
Lukas Revan A strong willed lion who roves about and explores the depths of Chima, without venturing into the Outlands of course. He prefers to be out of sight, but when he does encounter people, he treats them with respect. He often loves to visit the Eagle Spires to read numerous books and articles. He looks up to the Elders of Chima and wants to become one someday. Lion

Weapon Charges

This is a table for tracking the charges in ranged weapons in order to ensure that, for those who possess and fire ranged weapons, they are aware of how many shots they have left so that they can plan accordingly.

Weapon Name Fuel (Current) Fuel (Maximum)
Razen's Rifle 14 Charges 16 Charges
Crasmire's Sluggas 3 Charges 3 Charges
Cromulent's Blaster 0 Charges 6 Charges
Cratheus's Chi Gronk 3 Charges 3 Charges
Wolfy's Revolver 6 Charges 6 Charges

Settings

These are basically rules and other setup items to make sure that we're all clear on how the roleplay would work in various important ways.

  • Main rule: No controlling others’ reactions. For example:
    • No autohitting others’ characters. Let them choose whether they got hit or not; just explain what you’re trying to do and let them decide if they got hit by it.
    • The same goes for others’ emotional reactions; you can, for example, say if you’re trying to make someone angry, but don’t say that they got angry; let them do that (or not).
    • Etc.
  • The roleplay would be fairly easygoing, with people encouraged to take a turn when they’d get a chance to do so but not too many to avoid flooding users in other timezones with stuff that they’d need to catch up on.
  • The average blaster would be powerful enough to knock out a person in one hit, but only have 6 charges per orb of Chi used to fuel it (used up when the blaster uses up its charges). This is to balance out the power, go with why people don’t use them much in the series and reinforce that Chi is rare and that things powered by it must be used sparingly.
  • The average melee weapon couldn't knock out someone in one hit, probably taking a couple of hits, but they could block way better than blasters. This is both to preserve game balance and to reflect the show, where people block with swords all the time but not with blasters.
  • We should probably stick to canon tribes only to avoid users overspecializing in a small number of particularly appealing fan tribes and oversaturating the world (among other problems).
  • In terms of content types (Socializing, Combat, Exploration, and Espionage):
    • Waxymix suggested lots of Socializing due to the players’ shared love of Chima, allowing players to make a lot of in-jokes and whatnot.
  • Players could play canon characters as well as original characters; however, while players could play multiple of their own characters, each player could only play up to 1 canon character to avoid driving too much plot or hogging too much of the official stuff.
  • Canon characters would almost certainly appear, played either by the Game Master or by players who opt to play a canon character instead of an OC.
  • The roleplay would be in English, as most of the players speak English fluently and there’s only a small portion of the Chima fanbase that speaks any other language fluently.
  • The roleplay’s system would almost certainly be freeform, meaning that actions in the world would be determined by players of relevant characters figuring out what their characters would realistically do and roleplaying accordingly.
  • This was voted for by most of the players.
  • The characters could be designed in whatever way the users would see fit, not limited by what Lego pieces exist to construct them out of.
  • The roleplay would be held on Discord, as opposed to the wiki or elsewhere.
  • The roleplay might be copied to the wiki in chapter-sized segments, which would be copyedited and then posted to provide story pieces to non-players in a cohesive format.

Considered Premises

The roleplay has had many proposed premises, including:

  • A setting parallel to the Outlands arc, taking place in the part of Chima not covered by the TV series to explore what happens there.
    • Wikikinetic’s idea; MichaelDro, Nielon, and Lastrise approved; Waxymix and Toademort preferred their own settings; Feline had not commented.
  • A setting after the end of the TV series, exploring what happens in the greater outside world once the show’s events are resolved.
    • Waxymix’s idea; Wikikinetic and MichaelDro tentatively approved; others have not commented.
      • This would require an alteration of the “no fan tribes” rule for outside Chima.
  • An alternate version of the post-Outlands arc, where the Crawlers escape, the Ice Hunters do not, and the plot goes from there.
    • Toademort’s idea; Wikikinetic tentatively approved; Nielon and MichaelDro disapproved; others have not commented.
  • A fusion of all of these ideas, where the story begins during the Outlands arc following the rest of the world, but where some characters explore the world outside Chima just in case, and where the Crawlers begin being set up as more interesting characters (a potential build-up to them escaping after Chi is restored), with the 3 (or 2.5) items existing simultaneously and characters being able to move between them at will.
    • MichaelDro and Wikikinetic’s idea. This was finally instituted into the roleplay per consensus among various players.
